Sandy Grishaver-Kalisingh is the owner of SK Robotics and founder of the Kalymero Foundation; The Robot Academy, a nonprofit for robot technology education.
Last year Sandy participated in the Diaspora International Development Masterclass that I organized together with Rachida Boukhriss en Sylvia Ortega Azurduy of Wilde Ganzen to support diaspora organizations in their further professionalization and to offer coaching where necessary. Especially visibility is important! I find her project very interesting and would like to share a bit about it:
The Kalymero Foundation therefore offers basic Robotics lessons to young people in the Netherlands at schools and also in India. You might think why is robotica necessary?
Sandy: “Innovations are happening very quickly and are becoming more complex and that is why today's children must already be inspired with robot technology, because that is the future!”
And why in India? My roots are in India and in India children in the countryside do not get the same opportunities as in the city. The Kalymero Foundation stands for equality of opportunity, because there are pearls everywhere when it comes to children. We are now also receiving questions from other countries who would like to take lessons from us.
Sandy: “We are now creating the lessons online and recording them in a studio with a green screen. This way we can give lessons in different languages to more children all over the world”
We will follow up on Sandy in a few weeks.
